The theme for this year’s International Human Rights Day, Dignity, Freedom, and Justice for All, comes both on the 75^th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and the end of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. It should be recalled that it was a woman, Eleanor Roosevelt, who provided much of the energy that saw the General Assembly promulgate UDHR, receiving a standing ovation.
