Voting in 2023: Can anyone predict the outcome?
ZANU-PF claims that they have 4.5 million supporters, and a recent “opinion poll” claims a landslide victory for the president. Clearly, the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) should just give up if this is true, but, as always, claims from opinion polls are contested: certainly, they are in Zimbabwe. However, perhaps these amazing findings are a recipe for a predictable (and probably disputed) outcome, or is it that the win for ZANU-PF and Emmerson Mnangagwa needs to be so large that there can be no dispute, as was the case in 2005 and 2013? After all, even if the whole electoral process is completely flawed, who can argue with a landslide?
